Alexander Desplat 的最新動畫作品
好萊塢的電影配樂家一代換一代，正當John Williams 正忙著發行他的生涯回顧專輯之時，其他優秀的配樂家帶著歐陸、極簡、東方等等的元素，讓電影有了時代的風貌。Alexander Desplat 正是這個世代的耀眼之星，生於法國巴黎，他某些作品帶有著歐洲輕快的風格，知名電影配樂集中在2010年之後。他去年才以「水底情深」(The Shape of Water) 的配樂獲得奧斯卡獎。著名作品包括了「班傑明的奇幻旅程」、「暮光之城：新月」、「哈利波特：死神的聖物」、「王者之聲」、「永生樹」、「哥吉拉」(2014)；而「亞果出任務」、「布達佩斯大飯店」則是融合了明顯的異國元素以貼近故事背景，後者也是拿到了奧斯卡最佳配樂。
他也替動畫片配樂，比方說「寵物情緣」，劇情有點傻 但是音樂則相當的貼近故事裡的紐約背景。而他和Wes Anderson 似乎也是好搭檔，兩部Wes 的布偶動畫片：「超級狐狸先生」(Fantastic Mr. Fox) 與「犬之島」(Isle of Dogs)，都是 Alexander Desplat 負責配樂。

這兩部片在音樂上最大的不同就是「犬之島」的日本元素相當的重；裡面請到了知名的太鼓演奏家渡邊薰負責裡面最重要的樂器--日本太鼓的編寫與演奏。所以這部片不但是日本背景、也是日本風格的配樂。但是他在其中也使用了他自己對管樂與銅管樂的品味的片段，所以東洋與西洋融合得相當完美。
